Old friends
This weekend Devin and I were invited to our friends- the Sylvester's- for some fun in the sun. Devin and Emma have been friends since about 20 months old and you can find many posts with Emma and her awesome family here on my blog. Emma has always had a little "thing" for Devin and we love to watch them as they grow. They remain great friends with a little bit more of flirt coming through. At one point they flipped the boat upside down and were "fooling around" under it. I know it was all innocent but it reminded us that we may not have much longer for their actions to stay innocent!

We're in Trouble
As I was picking Devin up from school today I noticed that he hugged Ashley and Nora, and then blew Sara kisses from the car.
In the car I said to him, "You are such a flirt!"
He, of course, asked me what a flirt was. Upon hearing my response, "It means you like a lot of girls." He said "I love ALL girls!!"
Oh boy!

Friends
Sunday our neighbor, and Devin's good friend, Lexi spent the day with us. The kids had so much fun together. Devin loved having a pal in the back seat with him, someone to play with all day, and a friend to just be silly with!
We took the kids to the mall, I had some Gym(boree) Bucks to burn, and let the kids play in the play area. After that we took them to lunch at Olive Garden and then back to the house to play.

Although Devin and Lexi have spent a lot of time playing, they have never really spent the whole day together. These two cuties got along really well, especially considering they are both only children and are not used to a full time playmate. Glad to see them getting along so well, since they will be in full day Kindergarten together (and car pooling!) soon!!

Last Week-end
Friday night we went bowling with my good friend Heather and her son Pierce. The boys had so much fun, as they usually do together. Pierce is a year and a half older than Devin but they get a long really well. We went to Applebee's to eat dinner after and the boys had fun picking the same meal to order and coloring the same pictures on their menus. By the end of dinner they were tuckered out and having trouble NOT laying down on the seat!! I guess bowling wore them out!
Saturday Devin got to play with some of his second cousins for a while before we went to play at a super fun new place called Nutin But Good Times!
(and the pics won't upload...I may or may not be back with them!)

The Sleepover
Devin was invited for his first (non-Grandma) sleepover at our good friends, The Beaulieu's. Pierce, 6, and Devin have been close since Devin was born. Here is what Devin had to say about his sleepover.
"I slept upstairs on the rug and Pierce was in his bed and I was in my sleeping bag. I was facing Pierce. I got to put my head forward facing Pierce and we were talking and got to do ghost stories and talking in the middle of the night. I stayed up really late and I got to play up really early and I got to watch a show really early. We played Topper and we colored Transformers. We had pancakes for breakfast. I watched George the Movie.
My sleepover was good. Can I do it again?
That is it."

Friends
Here are Devin and Lexi today. They played for over an hour without fighting, and only told on each other once! This was a much-welcomed break to Erick and I. When Devin and Erick walked Lexi back home, Devin even told her Grammy to "give Lexi some cold water cause she is a little bit sick." (Lexi has asthma too, but hers is the cough variant asthma.) Devin sure loves and protects this girl!

And what's up with Devin's smirk? We are in trouble! haha

Busy Week-end and Picture Overload!
We started off the week-end with a park playdate with Kim, Emma, and Lexie. All was going well until Devin face planted off the monkey bars. It wasn't pretty. Nose bleed, fat lips, and split gum (above the front teeth) so we headed home for popsicles, ice, and a movie. Poor kid. He is doing better now, but I have a feeling the gum/lip thing is going to take a while to heal.
Saturday morning Devin and I made bunny cupcakes for Easter. It was an idea that Devin came up with after he saw my ALL YOU magazine with bunny cupcakes on the cover. Devin was a big help: lining the cupcake pan, measuring the water, and placing all of the bunnies on top.
Saturday afternoon, after a haircut, lunch, and nap, we headed over to see Candace and Matthew. The boys had fun running around and got nice and DIRTY!!
Happy Easter by the way! On Sunday we started off the day at home with an egg hunt indoors and Easter basket. Then we headed outside for an egg hunt with Lexie. That was a lot of fun. They are so cute together.
Is that picture didn't make you say "awwwee!" then how about this sweet one?
We spent the afternoon at my parent's house. A delicious ham dinner courtesy of Mom, another egg hunt with some great gifts, and good company/many laughs and our day was complete.
Check out this gorgeous beach bag from Grandma and Papa! He even got a matching beach towel.
Papa and Marie taking it all in, including the beautiful, warm sun!
Uncle Mark has been teaching Devin how to play hockey. They took a break here for the egg hunt!
We are so thankful to have wonderful friends and great family! We love you all :)

Friends
Devin and Emma have been friends since they were about 20 months (if I am remembering correctly!) Devin is always excited to see Emma, and I love visiting with her Mom, Kim. When the kids get together they love to play, goof around, wrestle~ you name it. There is always one thing you can count on- chaos! It's awesome to see them have such a nice little friendship.
Here they are around their 2nd birthday:
About 2.5 years old and getting affectionate (lol):
Learning how to kiss (oh boy!):
About 3 years old:
Almost 4 years old:

I hope that Devin and Emma can continue their friendship for a very long time. They are so adorable together!! I'd also love them to stay close because I have come to have a great friendship with Emma's Mommy!

PS Kim, this is an old picture. I think you and I need an updated pic soon!

Busy Week-end
Erick has been working a lot lately, so we had to cram a lot in between Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
Saturday when Erick got home we hopped in the car and headed to his parents house for a visit. His aunt, Tia Tonya, was there and her daughter, Carolyn, stopped by with her daughters, J'Lynn and Jada. Everyone had fun eating BBQ, playing ball, and winding down with a little Disney channel (for the kids)/Red Sox (for the adults). It was a great visit.
Here is Erick with Devin and Erick's dad.
Erick and his mom playing baseball with Devin.
Devin doing a little dance while running the bases. (It was pretty cute!)

On Sunday we headed over to the beach to see our friends, Hollie and Moses and their kids Kolbe and Aiden. Devin had fun playing with kids in the sand, going back and forth to the water (which I was told wasn't too cold) and I enjoyed relaxing in my chair soaking up some sun, reading, and chatting. The weather was great (read: not too hot) and everyone enjoyed themselves. Later we went out for dinner and ice cream before heading home.

Storytime with Devin and Lexi
Devin and Lexi are becoming quite the little buddies. Let me backtrack. Lexi is our neighbor. She and Devin have always played together nicely. (Remember this Halloween when she came over to make cookies?) Over the week-end I watched Lexi for several hours and the kids played so well together. Tuesday after school Devin invited Lexi over to play and play they did! They also took time to read some books. It was the cutest thing! I was preparing dinner when I looked over to see Lexi "reading" to Devin on the couch!
When it was time for Lexi to go Devin declared, "I want to give Lexi a kiss and a hug!"
Her Grampy said, "Ok Devin, but don't get used to it!"
(LOL)
And so Devin gave her a kiss on the cheek and they hugged. Awwwww! So sweet!

*Slept late on Sunday!
*Shopping trip/out to dinner as a family(4 hours long might I add) and for the most part Devin behaved! For not being used to shopping that long, I was impressed!
