Coolest Kid on the Playground

His teacher sent me this picture this morning. He is wearing her sunglasses...silly boy. Man, I love this kid!
(I am going to miss the random texts from his pre-school teachers after this year!)

Pre-School Celebration (Post Do-Over)

Saturday was Devin's first Pre-School Celebration. It was so cute! The kids sang songs and they showed a picture slide show with shots from throughout the year. They followed that up with a brunch buffet catered by the parents. Yum!

Here is Devin with one of his best school buddies, "A"

This is Devin sitting with "Mrs" K during the slide show. She was Devin's first teacher when he started at this school in the fall. He absolutely adores her and was heartbroken when she got married in May.
Devin's current teacher, Miss K, her daughter, and Devin. There was some serious tickling going on during this picture!
Mommy and Devin trying out the pinwheel Miss J, the owner, gave him in his goody bag.
Daddy and Devin posing for a picture.
Here is a video clip of the song that Devin's class "sang/performed" minus a couple of the shy kiddos who backed out at the last minute! Clearly my kid isn't shy~ little ham!

Back to the Hospital?

No, not us! We are not going back to the hospital, but this was the conversation Devin and I had on the way home from school yesterday....

Devin: I need to go to the hospital.
Mommy: You need to go to the hospital? How come?
Devin: I don't feel good!
Mommy: Why? What's wrong?
Devin: My head hurts. I get a hot dog and lay down and watch tv at the hospital.

Hmmmmm....I've got news for you Buddy! I can think of cheaper ways of getting a hot dog and laying down to watch tv! KIDS!

Cute Conversations

This conversation occurred between Devin and I yesterday morning.

Devin: I like your new shirt Mom.
Me: (after giggling a little since he has never said this before) I like your new jeans Devin.
Devin: I like your new jeans too, Mom. (I was wearing brown dress pants)
Me: Thanks Devin!
Devin: I'm a cry Mom.
Me: Why are you gonna cry Devin?
Devin: I want Daddy, Mom.
We proceed to call Daddy who is on his way to work.
Devin: Hi Daddy!
Daddy: Hi Devin!
Devin: You go to work Daddy?
Daddy: Yes, Devin. I have to go to work.
Devin: You a mailman Dad?
Daddy: Yes Devin, I'm a mailman.
Devin: Okay Dad. I luuh you.
Daddy: I love you too Devin. Be good for Mommy.

It still amazes me that Devin is capable of holding a conversation complete with his own thoughts. I am also impressed lately with how he lets me know of his emotions.

A Minute with Devin

Please notice that during Devin's "show" he says "D-i-n and that's my name!!!"

Bahaha! Soo funny! I always sing this song to him: "There is a boy who has a name and Devin is his name- D-E-V-I-N, D-E-V-I-N, D-E-V-I-N and Devin is his name!"

Cute Conversations

Mommy: Devin how was your day today? Were you a good boy?
Devin: I mime out. (I time out)
Mommy: You went to time out? What did you do?
Devin: Hit
Mommy: Who did you hit?
Devin: Weewee (Livi)

Who needs a sibling when he is going to tell on himself????

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*discussing the Red Sox*
Devin: Big Papi boo boo.
Mommy: What happened to Big Papi?
Devin: Boo boo, wrist (as he is rubbing his forearm/wrist area)
Mommy: Can he play baseball?
Devin: No, Big Papi no play. D.S. (haha he meant D.L.- disabled list)
Think we've got our boy trained to pay attention to the Red Sox? He has since turned his attention to "Maaaannnny!" since Big Papi is out!
Cute
I think Devin is having a particulary "cute" day! He is melting my heart today.
He woke up from nap in a cuddly mood. It was entirely what I needed too. As he is hugging me, he is rubbing my arm and proceeds to say "I wove you Mommy." Awwww!!! A few minutes later he picks up a star bath toy (that was in room, why??? no idea) and says "Whasis?" (What's this?) I told him it was a star and so Devin busts out with "inkle inkle...." He then kind of dwindles out and then picks back up with "E-I-E-I-O" I didn't even realize that he knew how to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" well, sort of sing it , and then for him to combine it with his other song of choice was just too darn cute!
He has now been singing his new song to everyone who calls- Grandma, Erin, Daddy.
