Devin's Swimming

I know I have posted a lot about Devin's swimming lately, but its something I am really excited about. Its something we do daily and he has made so much progress. Here is a little collection of his progress the last week or so.

Splash Park

Yesterday Erick and I took Devin to the Splash Park. It wasn't the warmest day~ about 80, (considering we've been in the 90's for a month now!) but Devin loved it anyway! Surfin'
I love the detailing in this picture...
Here is Devin at the same park 2 years ago....he looks so little here!! Just 2 years old!

Fireworks

Before school got out for the summer I purchased 5 Fisher Cats tickets from my Teacher's Union to take in a ball game at our local minor league. Monday night was game time...set to be complete with Fireworks and all. Well, there were fireworks, but not the pretty kind!

When we got there the sky was clear and beautiful. Here is Devin with my parents in the background.
Not sure whats up with the head tilt...but he's so cute I can't resist! See the sun in the background?
A little bit of Devin's photography...
Just before the first pitch (7:05pm) there was an announcement that due to the "small storm cell" headed our way the game was going to start late. The clouds moved in quickly and we all huddled under the cement awning area (near the concessions) to stay dry. The "small cell" never showed...it was a HUGE STORM CELL!! For 2 hours we stayed huddled in the crowded, hot, and sticky landing while it down poured with thunder and lightening. There were even tornado warnings (we didn't know it at the time). At 9:00 the game still had not started yet and we decided to leave. We later learned that the team got creamed by the visiting Sea Dogs and the fireworks were cancelled. BOO!! We also learned that we can use our tickets to get us into another home game sometime this season. Hopefully with better weather!! Yay!!!

At least Devin got a souvenir out of the deal...Maybe one day he will get to see a game.

Amazing

Devin has really taken off with his swimming. Just yesterday he started swimming under water for considerable amounts of time. He also loves to do belly flops!
This video shows us both his under water and above water swimming.

Phone Photo Friday~ Band Version

Every Thursday night my Dad's band plays at Harley Davidson Nashua from 6 to 8. We decided to check it out this week. They sounded pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. This, of course, was no surprise to me as my Dad has been playing the bass and in bands much longer than I've been living. He is very talented (says the uber-cheesy smiling proud daughter).

My Dad is all the way on the right in the white shirt...on the bass.
Here is Devin showing off his mini-frisbee. A bikini-clad-high-heel-wearing hottie gave it to him. She was washing bikes for a Breast Cancer fundraiser. Dad and Papa were so proud! (LOL)*I tried to touch up the pictures a little. They were washed out.

Here is a clip of my Dad's band playing...

No Gross Pictures

I have tortured you all enough with the foot pictures, so I will refrain. Devin's foot is all healed up. Strangest thing...The second night Devin asked me to bandage it up so I put the burn ointment on it and wrapped it. The next morning the bubble was gone and now the skin appears to be thicker and darker.

In keeping with the "hurt foot" theme, I stepped on a piece of glass yesterday. I didn't realize it was glass and quickly rolled off of it and brushed it with my other foot. I saw blood. A considerable amount of blood. After cleaning up both my feet and the rug, I realized that the pain was still there. A check by Kim and Erick concluded that there was no glass. Still the pain persisted- from my toes up through my calf. After a while I came to the conclusion that I rolled/twisted my ankle when trying to quickly get off of the glass. A little swollen and sore still today, but I will be fine.

Hopefully we will have NO MORE foot accidents in the Smith household!!

Wordless Wednesday~ almost

This was Devin's reaction to having to wait an extra day to go to Santa's Village due to the rainy weather. (And having to go shopping instead.)

Weather and Foot Update

This was the temperature on my dash board this afternoon. This does not indicate the humidity- which is high. *ugh* Gotta love the extreme weather differences in the New England!

This was Devin's foot this morning. He is doing much better with being able to walk on it. It is still a large blister.

It was so hot....

That Devin burned/bubbled/blistered his foot on a deck!!! Now that is hot. OUCH!!! All he did was walk across the deck barefoot to get into the pool. No one realized how freakin hot the deck was, until poor Devin was screaming and crying that it was HOTTTT!!!!

This is how his poor foot looked about 6 hours later.
He has to walk on the side of his foot to get around. Here it is all bandaged up so he could play.

I hope its better (and definitely not worse) tomorrow!

White Mountains Getaway

During our vacation week we went up to the White Mountains. We left on Wednesday around 1:30pm and got home Friday at 6:45pm. Not a long trip, but we were able to pack in some fun nonetheless!

We picked up my Mom on our way, since she needed/deserved a little getaway!

Then we headed to our hotel where swimming and a soak in the hot tub were on the agenda for the evening. Thursday, since it was raining and blah, we headed to North Conway for some shopping. We also went to an ice cream shoppe with a nice playground to let Devin burn off some steam since it wasn't raining there (he was pretty good about being in the car and shopping so long considering he hates shopping!).

Friday we went to Santa's Village. We had a lot of fun there. Every one's favorite ride was the Peppermint Twist (kind of like the Pirate Ship if you are familiar with that). Devin also really enjoyed the bumper cars and Bah Hum Bug ride (shoot bugs with your lasers as your car rides through a dark building).

Devin got to visit with Santa too! They had quite a little chat about Devin's interests. ;)

There were even real reindeer! We got to feed them. So cute!

Here are a couple of my other favorite pics.
We had a great time!
