Happy New Year

Welcome 2010!

I was able to ring in the new year with my hunny, thanks to my Mom for watching Devin overnight. We had a really low key night~ going out to dinner alone, visiting friends for a little while and watching the ball drop at home in our pj's! It was perfect! (THANK YOU MOM!)

Oh, and the best part was probably where we got to sleep until 10:45 am!

Here's to hoping for much love, many laughs, and good health in 2010! *cheers*

Reunion from the Good Old Days

Miss Kristen, Miss Jamie, and Miss Karla

Last week I was able to visit with some friends/old co-workers. The 3 of us used to work at Kristen's pre-school ~Child Guidance (well, Kristen is still there since she owns it!). I have moved on teaching in the public elementary school and Jamie now lives in San Diego, but was in town for a visit with her family and friends.

Kristen arranged for some of our old students to come and visit too. They are now teens through early twenties- we had them in their pre-school and single digit years!!! Wow have they grown up!

It was so nice to see everyone, reminisce, and chat about the "Good Old Days" for a little bit!

Devin also made a new buddy in the youngest sibling of a family that I had all 3 of the older siblings and babysat for about 8 years! Here are Devin and Ryan having a blast!

"Mommy, It's Your Birthday!"

Devin is really excited today! He keeps saying, "Mommy, its your birthday!" Last night he asked me, "Is it tomorrow yet?" because he wanted me to open my presents and cards and he knew I couldn't open them until tomorrow. It was so cute. First thing this morning he said, "Its tomorrow now Mommy! You can open your presents!"

I did open them and I received two new charms for my Chamilla bracelet, one from Devin and one from Erick. Devin even picked out the charm himself. Yay! My bracelet is not so naked anymore! Later today we will go to dinner with my parents and tonight Erick and I will go out with some friends to celebrate turning <<<30>>> woah!

It's been a rough season

We've got colds again....

Poor Devin has been sick all week, but really sick since Wednesday. He had a fever Wednesday through Friday. Finally he woke up today (after 13 hours of slumber) without a fever...yay! He also has a nasty runny nose, cough, and watery eyes.

I started with a sore throat at the beginning of the week. That went away and then I got SUPER congested, which is where I stand now. I hate being congested! I also just feel so run down. Blah!

I did manage to air out the house, change the bedding, and Lysol every inch of the house today. I also brought Devin outside for some fresh air since he had not been out for so long. He is used to going out to play every day!!! We just went for a light walk.

Hopefully all of that helps us!

Unexpected Start to Vacation

Well our vacation did not start off so well.....

Friday afternoon, my best friend and Devin's God Mother, Erin came over and went with me to surprise Devin at school. He was excited to say the least! Once we got home I went to unlock the door and somehow managed to drop my ENTIRE key ring (all my keys) down a 1 inch hole in between the cement steps and the house. This became my mini 2 day nightmare!

We spent an hour at the neighbor's house waiting for Erick to get home. Then Erick and I spent a while trying to get them out. We were out in the dark, cold night trying to fish out keys from the hole. We used some of my brother's magnetic and "grabby" tools. We vacuumed out old leaves. We did not know what else to do. We decided to wait until the next day. On Saturday my in-laws came over while Erick was at work to try to help. My mother in law kind of got in the side of the stairs and dug a hole and then my father in law stuck his arm in there with the shop vac and vacuumed until my keys came out! Thank goodness! I was so appreciative and thankful! They insisted on going to get some cement to seal off the hole so that I wouldn't have that problem again!

Personally, I think Erick got off easily! Haha, just kidding! :)
